Franklin Davis LaRue, 86, of Galax, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, January 09, 2021 at his home.  Franklin was born July 11, 1934 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Harvey Jehu LaRue, Sr. and Thelma Alma Funk LaRue.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 60 years Phyllis Byrd LaRue of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Terri LaRue Painter and Burton of Meadows of Dan; Kelly LaRue Melton and Terry of Galax; son Jason Davis LaRue of the home; grandchildren and spouses Charly Frost and David; Frankie Roop and Sharon; Daniel Hall and Marisa; Jacob Melton; Jessica Melton; Lindsey Cockerham and Josh; great grandchildren: Reagan Frost, Addison Roop, Landon Bergeron, Ian Isom. Aaron Cockerham.  Special friends Sam and Sylvie Wilson and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Franklin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
