Frankie Ellen Collins Lawson age 88 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Lawson was born on November 9, 1920 in Wythe County, Va. to Arthur Moody & Emma Holliday Collins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene F. Lawson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Ruth Emogene & Paul Anders of Galax, Va; Carolyn & Earl Dean Pierce of Fries, Va.; son and daughter-in-law Curtis & Brenda Lawson of Fries, Va.; sister Barbara Collins of Ivanhoe, Va. sisters-in-law Iris Collins; Beulah Flannagan; Nell Lawson and Dot Lawson; brother-in-law Fred Lawson; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
