Frank L. Short's Obituary
Frank L. Short, age 77, of Fries, VA died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Salem, VA.
Mr. Short was born in Steuben, NY Feb. 22, 1934. His parents were Frances I. and Ella Straight Short.
He is s survived by his wife, Ruth Faye Short, 1074 Ivanhoe Road, Fries, Va; daughters & sons-in-law, Yvonne Plisko, Newport, NC, Sharon Coleman, Havelock, NC, Kathy & Robbie McKnight and Denise & Larry Waller and Regina Short, all of Fries, VA; brother & sister-in-law, James & Judi Short, Painted Post, NY; sister & brother-in-law, Mary & Rev. Jerrold Root, Kezar Falls,
Maine; special friend, Roger Combs, Jr; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and seven granddaughters-in-law.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 04, 2011 at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family wil receive friends from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service Monday. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Tom Ward and the Rev. Tim Smith. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Veterans Medical Palliative Unit. Military rites will be performed by the Grayson county VFW Post #7726.
