Frances Sells Russell age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday August 14, 2015 at the Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Russell was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 25, 1930 to Elmer and Mabel Summers Sells. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Russell and a son Eddie Russell.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary Jane and Kenny Griffin; son Freddy Russell all of Galax, Virginia; daughter-in-law Carolyn Russell of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Donna and Bobby Elliott; Kim and Jimmy Roberts; Jimmy and Jessica Russell; Holly and James Duhon; Timmy and Melissa Russell; step-grandchildren Coby and Karly Duhon; great-grandchildren Tyler McGrady; T.J. McGrady; Cameron and Leah Russell; Emerson Hurley; Carter and Luke Russell; brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Pat Sells; Jimmy and Nancy Sells all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special foster friends Kathy and Judy.

The funeral service will be held Monday August 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladeville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 103 Cranberry Road, Galax VA. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the First Christian Church.
