Frances Eleanor Rowlett (Billy)Perkins died April 1st 2010 in Galax, Virginia at 95. She was the daughter of the late Linwood Coleman Rowlett and Eleanor Patterson Rowlett. She is survived by her children Joseph Ross Perkins, III and wife Linda; Robert Colby Perkins and wife Rena; Eleanor (Lea) Perkins Hepler; William Massie Perkins; and daughter-in-law Nathalie (Dee) Harwood Perkins; six grandchildren and nine great grand children. Mrs. Perkins graduate from John Marshall High School, Westhampton College of UR, BA, University of Delaware, MA, and did advanced graduate work at UVA. She taught in Henrico County, at Richmond Professional Institute, Towson State (Maryland) College, and the Pharmacy School of MCV, finishing up as a School Counselor in Richmond City. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital, Virginia Eye Institute, and prepared tax returns under AARP auspices. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, the Commonwealth Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Assoc. For Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, Retired Teachers Assoc. And Virginia Historical Society. A memorial service will be held on April 19th, 2010 at All Saints Church. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall after the service.
