Frances Elizabeth Hanks age 76 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Golden Living Center. Mrs. Hanks was born in Carroll County, Va.on October 21, 1931 to Charlie & Margaret Ann Burnett Frazier. In addition to parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Wesley Hanks. She is survived by her children Mary Jones & Rita Lowe of Austinville, Va.; Edith Whitaker; Joyce Hiatt; Sandy Richardson; Mike Hanks; Steve Hanks; Tony Hanks & David Hanks all of Galax, Va; twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 18, 2008 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Tommy Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
