Ford Edison Greer, 82, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born June 2, 1932 in Troutdale, Virginia to the late Lester Dennis Greer and Ollie Blevins Greer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife
Charlotte Greer.

Mr. Greer was a veteran of the Korean War proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Galax Presbyterian Church, Galax Moose Lodge 733, and Oldtown Masonic Lodge 68.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Adrienne and David Ruffner of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Grace and Scotty Harmon of Galax Virginia; grandson Mark Anthony Denton II; great granddaughter Allysun Denton; sister Wilma Farmer of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Galax Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tom Whartenby officiating. Interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery, Rocky Hollow, Troutdale, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Masonic rites will be conducted by Oldtown Lodge #68 at the Church.
