Florence Evelyn Burcham Lawson age 98 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Lawson was born on July 12, 1925 in Woodlawn, Virginia to Wesley Roosevelt and Maude Arlene Edwards Burcham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Jackson Lawson; son William Jackson Lawson, Sr.; siblings  Pearl Bartlett; Kathleen Riddle; Rev. Carnie Burcham; Rev. Mack Burcham; Friel Burcham; Rev. Bobbie Burcham;.  and infant twins Barney Ray Burcham and Barnard Fay Burcham.

She is survived by her son Sterling Roger Lawson of Galax, Virginia; three granddaughters and spouses Dawn and Tim Bullins of Galax, Virginia; Andrea and Ken Lorek of Knoxville, Tennessee; Tuesdey and Chris Wilkinson of Dundalk, Maryland; grandson William Jackson and Peggy Lawson, Jr. of Glenolden, Pennsylvania.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor James Billings officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 pm until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
