Flora Marietha Dickens Aldred, age 93, of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday November 23, 2020 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Aldred was born on August 17, 1927 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late William and Abbie Semones Dickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Aldred; infant son Larry Michael and a second unnamed infant son; and her sister Freida Rector.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Susan Aldred, Douglas and Diana Aldred, both of Galax; grandchildren Sherry Aldred, Ethan Aldred, Jensen Aldred, Holly Frost; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law Georgie and Clyde Eastridge; brother and sister-in-law J.C. and Peggy Dickens; niece Janice Martin; nephews Ronald Rector and Steven Eastridge, all of Galax.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The visitation will be Wednesday at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until time of the service.

Masks and social distancing will be enforced at both the visitation and funeral service.
