Fern Lillian Combs age 85 of Galax,Va. passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007 in Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Combs was born in Carroll County, Va. on July 17, 1921 to the late Charlie & Ida Cox Jennings. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husand Clairon Edwin Combs. Mrs. Combs is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Cathy & Jimmy Jones of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Edwin & Terri Combs or Richmond, Va.; one grandson; one step-granddaughter and one step-great-grandson. Several nieces & nephews also survive. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the First Christian Church with Rev. Casey McKenna & Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
