Faye Fields Woodruff Evans age 93 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Evans was born in Grayson County, Virginia on May 16, 1918 to the late Connie & Albina Reeves Fields. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Woodrow Woodruff and Rudolph Evans; son Franklin Woodruff; grandson Travis Saferight and step-grandson Rodney Gunter.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Margaret W.& David Cron of Gallatin, Tennessee; sons & daughters-in-law, J.T. & Patsy Woodruff of Portland, Tennessee; Wilburn & Verna Woodruff of Woodlawn, Virginia; step children Betty Vass of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; JoAnn Gunter of Fries, Virginia; Michael Evans of Santa Cruise, California; sisters Fredia Wright and Frances Smith both of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Russell Vass officiating. Burial will be in the Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
