Obituary

Fannie "Kate" Hash age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the Galax Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Hash was born on September 14, 1937 in Fries, Virginia to James Lee and Alice Francis Johnson Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Cecil Hash and two sisters Janie Pearman and Mary Handy.

She is survived by children and spouses Cathy & G.W. Shaw; Paul Grubb; Denise and Jason Hawks; Missy and Jimmy Adams all of Galax, Virginia; Jimmy Grubb; Randy and Patti Grubb; Sena Hash all of Fries, Virginia; Dana and Todd Griffin; Sabrina Hawkins all of Hillsville, Virginia; sisters Sue Patton of Roanoke, Virginia; Dorie Anders of Fries, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Alex and Janie Taylor of Galax, Virginia; twenty-one grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to either the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas Texas 75231 or to the American Lung Association, 55 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
