Forest Dette Vaughan age 91 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in Fries, Virginia on June 5, 1923 to Panco and Maude Hayes Jefferson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Emmett Vaughan, Sr.; sisters Edna Hubble and Lillie Jefferson; brothers Jeff Jefferson; Reeves Jefferson; Grady Jefferson; Roscoe Jefferson and Thomas Jefferson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dorothy and Bill Sumner of Floyd, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law James and Diana Vaughan of Cleburne, Texas; Earl and Andrea Vaughan of Camano Island, Washington; Harrison Vaughan and special friend Brenda Walker of Christiansburg, Virginia; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Fries United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service at the Fries United Methodist Church.
