Everett Lowman Jones age 89 of Fries, Va. passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Jones was born on January 28, 1920 in Wythe County, Va. to Josiah and Arena Duncan Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Stanley Jones, grandson Jonathan Akers, thirteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children and their spouses Violet Akers & husband Jay of Marion, S.C.; Clarence Jones & wife Carolyn; Juanita Bedsaul & husband Stanley all of Galax, Va.; Bobbie Jones & wife Charlotte of Fries, Va.; Katherine Haulsey & husband David of Hillsville, Va.; Barbara McKinney and husband Wesley of Ivanhoe, Va.; brother Billy Jones of Fries, Va.; sister Vineta Davidson of Martinsville, Va.; ten grandchildren; one step-grandchild; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bob Adams, Rev. Garry Adams and Rev. Robert Lanter, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
