Everett Sidney Edwards age 99 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Edwards was born in Woodlawn, Virginia on October 13, 1918 to Sidney Matthew and Betty Jane Mabe Edwards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Claude, Talmadge, Arnold, Dean and Otis Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Louise Sharp Edwards; son Larry Everett Edwards; grandson and wife L. Justin and Shannon Edwards; granddaughter and husband Amy and Chad Semones; great-grandson Payton A. Edwards and great-granddaughter Cambree J. Edwards all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Hazel Jones of Salem, Virginia; Edna and Lloyd Frazier of Cleveland, Tennessee; sisters-in-law Janice Edwards of Newport News, Virginia; Edith Edwards of Radford, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30 at 11:00 AM in the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Theron Phillips and Pastor Ron Fredericks officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 29th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church.
