Everett Claston Cox age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, June 4,2017 in the Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, Virginia.

Mr. Cox was born on March 2,1925 in Carroll County, Virginia to Virgil B. and Rosa Landreth Cox. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Netta Georjean Cox.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Janet Elizabeth and Danny Thodos of Merritt Island, Florida; sons and daughters-in-law Gary Everett Cox and fiance' Cindy Swink of Galax, Virginia; Danny Lee and Towana Cox of Galax, Virginia; Robert Alan and Wanda Cox of Woodlawn, Virginia; one grandson and spouse Nicholas and Teir Thodos; two great-grandchildren Harper Thodos and Liam Bristol; sisters Betty Cox of Galax, Virginia; Wilma Boyd of Dublin, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Joe Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the River Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the River Hill Cemetery Fund, 1413 Pridemore Road Galax, Virginia 24333.
