Evelyn Vaughan Hines age 85 of Fries, Va. passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Hines was born on July 12, 1923 in Grayson County, Va. to Edgar C. & Grace Stanley Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hobert (Hody) Hines; daughter Phyllis Weatherman; sister Aleese Smith and brothers Elroy Vaughan and Darrell Vaughan. She is survived by a son Carroll Dean Hines of Fries, Va.; son-in-law Scott Weatherman of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouses Jason Weatherman & Alicia, Dennis Hines (Special Grandson), Felicia & Bryan Williams; Shannon & Scott Payne; Holly Mallory and Chad Hines; ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters & brothers-in-law Mildred Jones of Galax, Va.; Geneva Nuckolls of Pulaski, Va.; Nancy Costillo of Fries, Va.; Wilma & Eulice Campbell of Max Meadows, Va.; Doris & Roger Davis of Hillsville, Va.; brothers & sister-in-law Clifton & Margaret Vaughan; Ray Vaughan all of Fries, Va.; several nieces & nephews; several great-nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 23,2008 at 7:00 pm at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Ricky Watson & Rev. Tony Vaughan officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 11:00 am in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from six until seven at Fries Church of God of Prophecy.
