Evelyn Stoneman Beamer, 92, of Galax passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Golden Living/Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Galax. Mrs. Beamer was born November 13, 1918 in Galax to Grover Cleveland and Ella Moore Stoneman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beamer was preceded in death by her husband Ballard Beamer and a sister Eva Blevins.

She is survived by her special niece and caretaker Jo Ann Monk of Galax; great nephew Tim & Melinda Monk; great great nieces Skylar & Autumn Monk all of Galax: sisters-in-law: Geraldine Beamer of Galax and Mary Beamer of Oregon. Several nieces and nephews by marriage also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 7, 2011 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 7:00 PM with Rev. Richard Collins and Rev. Tommy Addison officiating. Interment will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until time for the service.
