Eva Louise (Carico) Vaughan
Eva Louise (Carico) Vaughan, 93, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak, Michigan.
She was born on the family farm near Stevens Creek, Virginia on November 25, 1923 to Claude and Grace (Troy) Carico. She was a graduate of Fries High School. She moved to Detroit during World War II where she helped build aircraft for the war effort. She married Charles Olin Vaughan on October 31, 1941. After the war, the couple settled in Detroit where they raised their family. They frequently returned to Virginia to be with relatives and friends.
She is survived by her two children Carla and Edward along with his wife Maureen. Her grandchildren are Michael, Katie, Maureen, Patrick, Andrew and Edward Charles along with his wife Kristina. Her sisters Laura Berry and Helen Morton and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Visitation will be at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax on Sunday February 26, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Richard Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery, Fries, Virginia
