Etta Leota Davis, age 93, of Galax, VA died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the NC Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC.

Mrs. Davis was born March 1, 1919 in Ennice, NC to William H & Mary Maines Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Freeman Earnest Davis and great-granddaughter, Milly Rector.

Surviving are the following: daughter, Thelma Walker, Galax; son & daughter-in-law, Ernest & Dianne Davis, Fries, VA; Jack & Nellie Davis, Galax, VA; Carl & Karen Davis, Sparta, NC: step-daughter, Mildred Waters, Georgia; step-son, Sidney Davis, Galax, VA; grandchildren; Brian Dixon, Doug Davis, Robin Davis, Misty Rector, Eddie Walker, April Stanley, Dathan Toliver, Joe Hash;
Several great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Garry Adams and the Rev. Junior Bullion. The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
