Ethel Mae Parks Melton age 70 of Lexington, N.C. passed away Sunday at her home. Mrs. Melton was born in Carroll County, Va. on August 3, 1937 to the late Floyd & Della Carpenter Parks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Garney Junior Melton. She is survived by her son Garney Michael Melton of North Charleston, S.C.; grandson Jared E. Melton; great-grandchildren Collin Melton and Levi Melton; sisters & brothers-in-law Pauline Jackson; Barbara & Glenn Burcham; Peggy & James Isom all of Woodlawn, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Olen & Dottie Parks; Clyde & Darlene Parks; Truman & Dawn Parks; Roger & Frankie Parks all of Galax, Va.; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Bishops Chapel Church with Rev. Jimmy Harmon & Pastor Craig Versprille officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
