Ethel Mae Phibbs Bond, age 94, of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday December 23, 2022 in her home.

Ethel was born on May 7, 1928 in Fries, Virginia to Fred and Maggie Criner Phibbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Bond and her daughter Carolyn Hicks.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law David and Pearl Bond of Fries, Freddie and Michelle Bond of Fries, Larry and Freda Bond of Mouth of Wilson, and Ruben and Mabel Bond of Bostic, North Carolina. Also surviving are grandchildren Fredrick and Ashley Bond, Brandon Bond, Jacob and Selena Bond, Brandy Bond, Megan Bond, Rannie Bond, Jimmy Bond, James Bond, Laken and Michael Taylor, Larry and Genny Hicks; fifteen great-grandchildren; and special great grandchildren Courtney Bond and Dakota Bond.

A funeral service will be held Monday December 26, 2022 at 2PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Richard Gregory officiating.Burial will follow in Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1PM until time of the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
