Ethel Funk Bobbitt age 83 of Fries, Va. passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Bobbitt was born on March 8, 1924 in Grayson County, Va. to Marzell S. & Emma Leona Patton Funk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James W. Bobbitt; son Paul Richard "Dickie" Bobbitt; sister Nellie Bourne and brother Howard C. Funk. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law Emma & Alan Underwood of Fries, Va.; son & daughter-in-law James W. (Jimmie) & JoAnn Bobbitt, Jr. of Pickerington, Ohio; sisters Ruby Underwood & Edith Bennett both of Fries, Va.; brothers & sister-in-law Harold W. Funk of Fries, Va.; M.J. & Burline Funk of Galax, Va.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm in Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
