Estell Marshall age 101 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Marshall was born on March 2,1907 in Carroll County, Va. to Lee & Laura Dickens Marshall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jennings Marshall. He is survived by a son & daughter-in-law Johnny & Julia Marshall of Ackworth, Georgia; sister Idell McElrath of Raleigh, North Carolina; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with Dr. Winford Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church or Oak Hill Academy.
