Ernest Dale Mitchell age 66 of Ivanhoe, Virginia passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Rocky Mount Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rocky Mount, Virginia.

Dale was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 28, 1952 to Ernest Irvin and Virginia Bowers Mitchell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo Parker Mitchell.

He is survived by two daughters Donna Ward of Fries, Virginia; Michelle Wild of Rocky Mount, Virginia; three grandchildren James Tyler Doss; Ryan Brady Cooper and Dalton Jesse Wild; two sisters and brothers-in-law Beverly and Billy Gillispie of Carthage, Tennessee; Shelia and J.R. Nester of Chestnut Mound, Tennessee; two nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.
