Ernest Danny Melton age 58 of Independence, Virginia passed away Wednesday May 16, 2012 at his home.

Danny was born in Pulaski County, Virginia on December 4, 1953 to Elmo and Mary Sue Christley Melton.

He is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Melton; son and daughter-in-law Travis and Sarah Melton all of Independence, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Joyce and Virgil Funk; Judy and Charles Gravley all of Elk Creek, Virginia; Carolyn and Jimmy Vailant of Shawsville, Virginia; Becky and Troy Stamper of Wytheville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Darrell and Linda Melton of Elk Creek, Virginia; Jerry Wade and Toni Melton of Wytheville, Virginia; aunt Margaret Sexton of Madison, North Carolina; uncle and his wife David Lee and Mildred Christley; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday May 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Doug Stuart and Lennie Wingler officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery with Brother Argil Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
