Emma Girtrue Taylor age 96 of Jacksonville, Florida and formerly of Fries, Va. passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Jacksonville. Mrs. Taylor was born in Carroll County, Va. on April 10, 1912 to Stanford & Ida Bryant Sumner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Taylor. She is survived by her daughter Nelva & David Womack of Jacksonville, Florida; sons & daughters-in-law Dwight & Phyllis Taylor of Johnson City, Tennessee; Don & Mary Ann Taylor of Fries, Va.; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grndchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Lee Thomas and Doug Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
