Emma Frances "Frankie" Lawson age 81 of Fries, Va. passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. Lawson was born in Wythe Co., Virginia on March 5,1926 to Paul Benjamin & Lizzy Oakley Moore Childress. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Denny Warren "Dink" Lawson and a son Jackie Dean Lawson. She is survived by her son Sterling Denny (Junior) Lawson of Fries, Va.; daughters & fiance' Patricia Martin & Aaron Haga of Altavista, Va.; Sheila Hodge & Randy Price of Fries, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Tammy & Robert Baker of Fries, Va.; sisters Margaret Gravley of Max Meadows, Va.; Faye Doss & Connie Savage both of Pulaski, Va.; Edna Davis of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church where the body will lie-in-state one hour before the funeral service with Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
