Emma Mae Edwards age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Golden Living-Blue Ridge Healthcare. Mrs. Edwards was born on September 15, 1923 in Carroll County, Va. to James & Alberta Carrico Isom. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Harper Edwards. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law Betty & Robert Sexton of Hillsville, Va.; son Ronnie Lee Edwards of Galax, Va.; sisters Virginia McBride & Jo Ann Burnett both of Galax, Va.; brother Edgar Isom of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11,2009 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Isom Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
