Emma Geneva Crockett age 80 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Crockett was born in Virginia on November 21, 1934 to Sterling Joseph and Cora Elizabeth Hanks Alexander. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Leo Crockett, Sr.; granddaughter April Leanne Crockett; sister Carrie Lee Viars and brothers Everett Alexander; Fletcher Hanks and Lloyd Thomas Alexander.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ramona Kay and Scotty Lee Hylton of Floyd County, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Ricky Alexander of Woodlawn, Virginia; Eugene (Kelly) Leo Crockett, Jr. of Marion, Virginia; Curtis Wesley Crockett of Hillsville, Virginia; Robert Douglas and Terri Crockett; Sterling (Teddy) Cecil Crockett all of Galax, Virginia; sister Goldie Payne of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Joseph and Mildred Alexander of Rural Retreat, Virginia; Waymon and Charlotte Alexander of Hiwassee, Virginia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Greg Goodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
