Elwood Hawks' Obituary
Elwood Hawks age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Hawks was born in Carroll County, Virginia on December 7, 1933 to Herman and Hattie Barker Hawks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nina Galyean Hawks.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Charles McCann of Low Gap, North Carolina; grandchildren and spouses Lisa and Montie Montgomery of Elkin, North Carolina; Chad and Tori McCann of Low Gap, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Catie McCann and Trevor Montgomery; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. John Kinder and Brother Doug Fleming oficiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
