Elwood Amburn's Obituary
Amburn, Carroll Elwood, 91, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at his home in Galax. He was born October 15, 1915 in Carroll County, Virginia to Guy S. & Arizona Judith Brannock Amburn.
Mr. Amburn is survived by a daughter, Betty Pilson of Stuart, Virginia; 3 grandchildren: Christopher Amburn, Marcie Mabe and Kelly Frost; 2 great granddaughters: Rianna Frost and Courtney Sumner. Mr. Amburn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Flora E. Amburn, a son Thomas E. Amburn, 2 sisters Vivian Morris and Maxine Higgins.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 PM at the Blue Ridge Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Bowles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
