Elsie Faye Kirby Carico age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Carico was born in Alleghany County, North Carolina on February 20, 1932 to Ralph and Lillie Tolliver Kirby. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Berlie Lee Carico; son Stevie Willard Carico; sister Hattie Jane Dannelly and brothers Gene Kirby and Ray Dean Kirby.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gina April and Ronald Isom of Galax, Virginia; sons Danny Lee Carico of Galax, Virginia; Stanley Todd Carico of Wytheville, Virginia; grandchildren Deanna Marie Burgess; Anthony Glenn Isom and Dustin Lee Carico; great-grandchildren Kristen Nicole Stesen; Ashley Renee Stesen; Leighlon Maddox Carico; Audrey Dannielle Carico; Lucas Glenn Isom; sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Jack Boles of High Point, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Elsie left behind many family members, friends and neighbors with many years of precious memories and friendship.

The funeral service will be held Thursday August 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Horton; Rev. Rex Tolliver and Rev. Dewey Felts officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
