Elmo Roger "Bud" Watson, Sr. age 77 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Watson was born on April 2, 1933 in Grayson County, Virginia to Raby Clarence and Willie Susan Akers Watson.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Watson of Fries, Virginia; daughters Vickie W. Hash of Elk Creek, Virginia; Sherry Watson of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law E.R. Watson, Jr. & Janice; Micheal B. Watson & Kitty all of Elk Creek, Virginia; grandchildren Jenny Watson of Bridgewater, Va.; Roger Watson III and wife Kristy of Elk Creek, Virginia; Kody Hash of Blacksburg, Virginia; Ty Hash and A.G. Watson both of Elk Creek, Virginia; great-grandson Eli Watson of Elk Creek, Virginia; sisters Lois Vaughan of Galax, Virginia; Bonita Jones of Roanoke, Virginia; Jackie Whitney of Northboro, Massachusetts; brothers and sisters-in-law Curt & Alice Watson; Randy & Linda Watson all of Fries, Virginia; Thomas & Sue Watson; Jerry & Linda Watson; Wayne "Peco" & Pat Watson all of Galax, Virginia; Travis "Chip" & Della Watson of Independence, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Rick Watson; Janet Watson and Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Cold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until nine at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Fire Department/ Rescue Squad of the donor's choice in memory of Bud .
