Elmer Glen Hensdell age 80 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Hensdell was born on September 21, 1943 in Grayson County, Virginia to Elmer Glen and Daisy Burnett Hensdell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Hazel Brown and Joyce Lineberry and a brother Donald Hensdell.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by a sister Mary Lawless of Johnson City, Tennessee; a brother James Hensdell of Galax, Virginia; nieces and nephews Erin Akers; Paula Youngblood; Jack Banks; Jeff Banks; Robbie Hensdell; Joseph Brown; Jason Brown and Charles Hensdell.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Military Rites  will be conducted by the  Grayson VFW Post 7726.There will be no visitation.
