Ellen Evans Phillips, 99, of Galax, VA went to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA.  Ellen was born in Grayson County, VA on November 25, 1924, to the late Dewey General and Irene "Rhena" Burnett Evans.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 wonderful years, Archie Calvin Phillips and siblings, Buford Evans, Hobert Evans, Walter "Willis" Evans, Ruby Moxley, and Eula Mae Phillips.

Survivors include children, John Calvin "JC" (Carolyn) Phillips, Mary Lee (Jerry) Wilson, Paul Phillips, Teresa (Greg) Surratt and Lisa (Eric) Mabe; brother, Eugene Evans; sister, Juanita Parker; sister-in-law Penny Evans; grandchildren Stephanie (Leonard) Sandberg, Johnny (Jessica) Phillips, Valerie Wilson, Veronica (Randy) Bowman, Pam Phillips, April (Josh) Clark, Jeannie Coulson, Susie (Flint) Taylor; step grandchild, Cody Mabe; great grandchildren, Hannah (Luke) Griles, Logan Sandberg, Mariah (Justin) Gardner, Tyler (Hannah) Phillips, Carrie (Matt) Johnson, Dustyn Hoffman, Bradley (Josie) Hoffman, Adam (Kristin) Bedsaul, Austin (Aleena) Bedsaul, Kaileigh Clark, Collin Clark, Dylan Coulson, Jalyn Coulson, Edin Taylor, Davis Taylor; step great grandchildren, Christopher Bowman, Adam Bowman; great-great grandchildren, Clovis Griles, July Phillips, Beau Johnson, Maddyson Hoffman, Layla Hoffman, Amerie Hoffman, Dakota Hoffman, Jackson Hoffman, Lilah Hoffman, Cameron Bedsaul, Cooper Bedsaul, Carter Bedsaul, Mahalee Bedsaul; step great-great grandchildren, Pepper Ellsworth, Raiden Bowman, Raina Bowman; special nephew Jeff (Janet) Evans; special former son-in-law Clifton Coulson; special family, Lloyd R. and Weslie R. and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church.  A burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery.  There will be visitation for family and friends one hour before the funeral service.
