Ellen Blanche Combs Hackler age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Hackler was born in Grayson County, Virginia on December 21, 1925 to Nathan and Bertie Kegley Combs.

She is survived by her husband Joe Dean Hackler of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Donna Sue and Ronnie Sikes; Mary Ellen and Roger Brown all of Galax, Virginia; Hilda and Lynn Warf of Little River, South Carolina; Cathy and Lewis Smith of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Robert "Sonny" and Wilma Jean Rector of Galax, Virginia; Duane and Linda Hackler of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren Stacy Sikes, Rodney Hodges, David Hodges, Amy Rector Carico, Valerie Reavis, Melanie Frost, Brandon Hodges, Kelly Cooley, Kevin Hackler, Crockett Brown, Caleb Hackler and Lenzi Brown; twelve great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Bowie and Doris Combs of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ernie Smith and Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Zion Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
