Ella Gladys Williams, age 83, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday February 18, 2023 in Twin County Regional Hospital.

Ella was born on May 24, 1939 in Alleghany County, North Carolina to the late Richard Alonzo and Ida Cecil Lowe Williams. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Reba Padgett and Elaine Smith; brother and sister-in-law Dan and Faye Williams; infant twins Julian and Julia; and grandson Mark Paul Richardson Jr.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Debbie and Junior Goad of Woodlawn, Virginia, James and Carolyn Burris of Woodlawn, Virginia, Joey and Gin Burris of Hillsville, Virginia, Judy and Paul Porter of Fries, Virginia, Janet Smith of Ivanhoe, Virginia, June Suits of Galax, Virginia, Jill and Jamey Davis of Wytheville, Virginia; grandchildren Chad Burris, Mike Hanks, Brandy Hodge, Crystal Burris, Melinda Chappell, Rocky Suits, Mitchell Burris, Victoria Davis, and Jordan Smith; 15 great grandchildren; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday February 23, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Reverend Tim Smith officiating with burial to follow in the Glade Creek Union Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
