Ella Mae McMillan age 83 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. McMillan was born on February 4, 1925 in Virginia to Malcolm & Eva Rector Shupe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie C. McMillan. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law Carolyn & J.C. Phillips of Galax, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law James & Margie McMillan of Draper, Va.; Michael & Alice McMillan of Burlington, N.C.; sisters Clare Shupe; Peggy Bryant; Bonnie & Junior Blackburn all of Galax, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Danny & Guida Shupe; Benny & Pat Shupe all of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Savannah United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Lindamood officiating. Burial will follow in Edmonds Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour before the funeral service. The family will receive friends Saturday night from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
