Elizabeth Butler Johnson age 91 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday October 1, 2023 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Johnson was born on August 10, 1932 in Asheville, North Carolina to Robert P.  and Essie Watts Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Johnson and a daughter Beth Johnson.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Jan Johnson Guynn and husband Gary; Becky Johnson all of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Stanley and Mary Lee Johnson of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Sam and Denise Johnson of Galax, Virginia; sister Jo Ray of Asheville, North Carolina; ten grandchildren;  twenty-two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery with Jeremy Morton officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Great Hope Baptist Church, 111 Elk Horn Road, Woodlawn, Virginia 24381; The Gideons International, P.O.
