Elizabeth Goad Anders age 92 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Anders was born on September 29, 1918 in Carroll County, Virginia to Charlie Wyatt and Ella Etta Pbibbs Goad. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Dewey Anders; her sister Zelma L. Anders of Fries, Virginia; and brother Everett Goad of Fries, Virginia.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Opal and Joe N. Vaughan of Fries, Virginia; Shirley and Bobby Byrd of Galax, Virginia; son Donald Anders of Galax, Virginia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Anders worked for 26 years in the textile industry retiring from Riegal Textile in 1979.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and served the Lord all her life.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Camet Spivey and Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
