Eliza Eversole Vaught age 99 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Vaught was born on January 30, 1910 in Wythe County, Va. to Charles Harvey & Mary Jane Steele Eversole. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Roy Vaught and son -in-law Stanley Overstreet.

She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Mildred Overstreet of Luling, Louisiana; Martha & Wick Lyne of Midlothian, Va.; sons & daughters-in-law Joe & Anne Vaught of Summerfield, N.C.; Doug & Doris Vaught of Galax, Va.; grandchildren Jeannie Radosta; David Overstreet; Chuck Vaught; Larry Vaught; Gary Vaught; Brenda Amos; Wickliffe Lyne; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 3:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Fries United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 187 Fries, Virginia 24330.
