Elgean Clara McCray age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, December 1,2008 at Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. McCray was born on October 22, 1926 in Grayson County, Va. to Charlie & Vetra Brown Kyle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Athon C. McCray, Sr.. She is survived by her daughter Donna McCray of Galax, Va.; sons & daughter-in-law Allen McCray & Lloyd McCray both of Galax, Va.; Cornelius & Carolyn McCray of Sparta, N.C.; brother Sam Kyle of Pulaski, Va.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 1:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Minister Carolyn McCray & Rev. James Hayes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Goins Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from twelve until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
