Eleanor M Barr's Obituary
Eleanor M. Barr, 80, of Galax passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006 in the Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center in Independence. She was born September 2, 1926 in Savannah, GA to Merrell & Nell Byrd Mock.
She is survived by her husband: Rudolph Barr of the home; two daughters: Julie Kennedy of Alva, Florida, Stephanie Bolt of Lenoir, NC, one son Merrelle Ward of Chilhowie, Va. A stepdaughter: Mary Nester of Laurel Fork, Va. and a brother & sister-in-law: Hurley & Beulah Hawks of Galax. Eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service was held Monday, October 30, 2006, at 2:00 PM at the Bluemont Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. There was no visitation at the funeral home.
