Elbert "Pete" Morris Killon, age 96, passed away Saturday February 18, 2023 in the Twin Country Regional Hospital.

He was born on January 2, 1927 to the late Elbert and Beatrice Killen. He was also preceded in death by his wife Janice Combs Killon, sisters Jama Bartley, Jeanette Lineberry, and Jean Shuping.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia Kirby Killon; sons and daughters-in-law Joe and Kathy Killon, Steve and Debbie Killon all of Galax, Virginia; one brother Eddie Killen of Dobson, North Carolina; stepchildren and spouses Mike and Myra Kirby, Donna and John Snyder all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Tracy and Mark Farmer, Drew and Taylor Killon, Seth & Leslie Killon, Stefan Killon, Scott Parks, Tracy Snow, Jake Snyder; as well as several great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday February 21, 2023 at 3:00PM in the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church on Meadow Creek Road with Rev. Charles Lindquist and Rev. Jeff Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to Mt. Vale Memorial Cemetery.
