Effie Eileen Wingate Trent age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mrs. Trent was born in Independence, Virginia on May 9, 1926 to Admiral Dewey and Anna Lou Collins Wingate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband June Preston Trent.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law June Geraldine and Frank Howard of Hampton, Virginia; Vada Irene and Roger Grimes of Galax, Virginia; son Charles Preston Trent of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren Tonya Moxley; Michael Williams; Jason Williams; Matthew Williams and Tony Preston Trent; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Ronny Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
