Edwin Whitfield Wilson, age 91, Galax, VA, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 20, 1922 in Carroll County, VA - Cranberry Road,  to Luther and Bettie Whittington Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Sue Wilson of the home; children,  Kaye Felts and her companion, Dan Permenter of Roanoke, VA and Cynthia Brandt and husband, Tom of Dublin, VA; grandchildren, Brian & Heather Felts, Amber & Bill Yoder, April Brandt, Jennifer Brandt and her fiance', Rufus Shumate; great-grandchildren, Woodrow Yoder and Mollie Shumate; two special nephews & spouses, Buford & Mildred Wilson and James & Marian Wilson; three adopted granddaughters, Rachel Mabus, Abigail Mabus and Rebekah Mabus; several nieces and nephews, also, survive.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA at 3:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery.  Officiating will be Myron Dalton and John Grimm.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until time for the funeral service on Wednesday.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Gladeville Ruritan Club. Military rites will be performed by the Grover King VFW Post # 1115.
