Ramey, Edward Oscar, 83, of Shady Square in Galax, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at his home. He was born April 19, 1925 in Carroll County, Virginia to Oscar and Hazel South Ramey.

Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife: Ola Harris Ramey of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ralph & Betty Ramey of Thomasville, North Carolina and James & Sandy Ramey of Galax; two Sisters & brothers-in-law: Virginia & Bill Thompson, Pearl & Curtis Chappell all of Galax; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Donald Ramey of Galax and Gray & Linda Ramey also of Galax. Four grandchildren, five great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters also survive.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7pm until 9pm at Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. The funeral service will be held Monday October 13, 2008 at 11:00 Am in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bob Davis and Rev. Rodney officiating.

Burial will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery.
