Edward Dean Montgomery Jr., better known as Eddie, age 73, of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Montgomery was born in Grayson County, Virginia on March 20, 1947 to Dean Montgomery and Wilma Showalter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Darrell Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife Judith (Judy) Montgomery of Mt. Airy; sons and daughter-in-law Brian and Teresa Montgomery, Darrin Montgomery, Eric Dean Montgomery, all of Mt. Airy; and grandchildren Sarah Adkins, Coy Montgomery, Ty Montgomery, and Sadie Montgomery. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law Alice Montgomery, Cheryl and Gary Davis, Myra and Mike Kirby, all of Galax; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held Tuesday September 22 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Barry Newman and Alan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Galyean Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the memorial service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
