Edward Noel "Cowboy" Padgett, 73, of Blue Ridge Rehab Center, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Rehab Center. He was born in Woodlawn on August 27, 1938 to the late Roby Burton Padgett and Martha "Lena" Winesett Padgett. He had worked for J.D. Bassett Furniture Co, before becoming disabled. Edward was of the Holiness faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Step-mother, Lola Allison Padgett, two brothers, Roby Leeman Padgett and Samuel Leon Padgett.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Cathy Padgett of Chamlers, TN, one son, Joel Padgett of Arlington, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Merlene King and husband Edward of Woodlawn, Janice Kay and Rev. Jay Fields of Galax and Janetta and Rev. Ray Fields of Bassett, one brother, Norris Eldrige Padgett of Galax. Several nieces and nephews
A graveside services will be held 2:00 Wednesday, December 21, 2001 in the Mausoleum of Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Galax with Rev. Ray Fields and Kelly Ratcliff officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one half hour prior to services.
